How Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic Can Help You Understand Your Cost of Care

When you need mental health care, you may wonder how much your treatment will cost. Parkside’s Business Office staff is available to provide individualized cost estimates and help you understand your insurance information. We can consult about costs, insurance or billing during normal buiness hours by calling 918-588-8850 on weekdays.

If you have health insurance, it is best to first contact your insurance provider about understanding your responsibilities and costs. Most insurance providers offer estimates for your out-of-pocket costs based on your plan’s specific benefits. Your insurance provider may also have information to help you compare price service options for the healthcare providers available to you.

Like all healthcare providers and hospitals, Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic has agreements with many insurance companies that determine the amount we will be paid. Our team will verify your insurance coverage and benefits, including your plan’s required co-payments, deductible cost, co-insurance and maximum out-of-pocket cost specified in your plan. We can also discuss your payment options.

Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic has a financial assistance policy

Beginning January 1, 2019, the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require hospitals to be more transparent regarding the cost of care. This “Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule” states that hospitals must provide a listing of their current standard charges, including a description for the item or service associated with each charge, for every item and service provided by the hospital. CMS additionally requires hospitals to list their standard charges by Diagnosis-Related Group (DRGs).

Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic believes in the need to educate patients on the cost of health care services. However, it is important to note that these numbers do not represent what patients will actually owe after a hospital stay or other service.

A hospital’s charges are based on its unique range of services, adoption of new technologies, patient demographics, and other factors. There is also a difference between “charges” and “costs”:

Charges are the full retail price for hospital or hospital outpatient services.

The discount price is a lower rate that may be negotiated with payers (“contractual rate” or “allowable rate”) or with patients (“self-pay discounts”).

The final patient cost is the individual patient& financial responsibility (your cost for services based on your benefit coverage and the discounted price).

Charges shown on the pricing lists provided do not represent payments or any specific/individual patient responsibility. Your financial responsibility will vary depending on your health insurance plan. Also, fees for doctor services may be billed separately. Your charges may vary based on the specific care you receive. Parkside complies with the No Surprises Act. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic has information on the No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates in this information sheet

Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic will continue to improve how we share information regarding our charges and the cost of your care. As you plan for your current or near-future health care needs, be sure to contact your insurer and the Parkside Business Office with any questions.

If you have questions about estimated service costs, your current bill or financial assistance, please call us at 918-588-8850. Parkside can help with an estimate based on your treatment needs and your insurance carrier or plan.

To view Parkside’s current charge schedule, please see the charge master summary. Please remember, charges are not an estimation of what your actual costs may be. You can also research pricing and reimbursements for services by referring to Parkside’s table of charges and reimbursements. To generate your own estimate, you will need to understand your insurance plan, know your deductible and how much you have met and know your individual cost sharing responsibilities. You can find links to specific plan information and pricing, with cost estimator worksheets to help you generate your own cost estimate. Cost estimator worksheets are provided and can be completed online and printed out for comparison with other hospitals. Parkside can assist you with this by calling 918-588-8850.
