Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP)
The Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program provides a supportive group for individuals with a diagnosis of substance abuse or dependence and who may also have a mental health diagnosis. Emphasis is placed on the effects of alcohol and other mood-altering drugs on one’s life, including mental health. The program also includes the development of relapse prevention skills and a related plan.
Those who participate:
- May have been unsuccessful in maintaining abstinence with the support of individual therapy and/or support groups.
- May be required to attend an intensive substance abuse treatment program by the court DHS, their employer, or other entity.
- May have been discharged from an inpatient program or who, if left untreated could require hospitalization.
The program meets on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:15pm and is effective treatment for alcohol and drug abuse/dependence, including problem use of prescription drugs.
Dual Diagnosis Group
Meeting Wednesdays from 1:00pm-2:00pm, this group provides a supportive process group for individuals who have both a substance abuse or dependence diagnosis and a psychiatric diagnosis. Participants have also demonstrated a period of recovery even though their clinical history might include a recent relapse. We address the processing of stressors, the development of symptom recognition and redirection and stress management skills. Participants work toward demonstrating and understanding the co-occurring concept of addiction and involved symptoms, and build relapse prevention skills with a related plan. They also learn the importance of intra-group and community based support.
