Eating Disorders – two one-hour presentations back to back

Parkside is proud to present one Webinar featuring two amazing presentations.

Hannah George, LMFT, presents “Not Going Back: 5 Keys to Maintaining Change After Inpatient Treatment.” This presentation will provide attendees with a discussion of ways to prepare eating disorder patients for the transition from inpatient to outpatient care. It will provide a review of the potential challenges in this transition, as well as tools to enhance growth opportunities within these challenges. Plus, an exploration of ways eating disorder patients can maintain changes made in inpatient treatment once at home.

Morgan Anderson, LPC, presents “Unstuck: An Introductory Approach to Integrating EMDR within Eating Disorder Treatment.” Participants will be able to identify, utilize, and know what EMDR is and how it can assist in the treatment of Eating Disorders, and how it can be helpful in recovery. Participants will be able to define the adaptive information processing model that EMDR is based on, focusing specifically on how traumatic events are stored maladaptively in the brain due to beliefs. Also, participants will review practical applications for practitioners, and how EMDR leads to resolution of unresolved trauma, change in the representation of early attachment relationships with caregivers, and decrease in negative beliefs about self-worth.
