Parkside accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurance as well as cash, check, or credit card.

Yes, if you think you may qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, call Parkside’s business office at 918-588-8850. You can obtain information about how and where to apply and Parkside can assist with Medicaid applications.

Any Parkside patient with a need is eligible for assistance through the By Your Side program.

Visitation hours can vary by unit and may be affected by COVID-19 precautionary measures.  It is recommended you call the unit to verify hours.  Special holiday visiting hours are also scheduled.  Clergy, case workers and attorneys may visit by appointment and should phone the unit to make arrangements.   Please consult the unit handbook for more information and safety rules related to visitation.

Yes, on a limited basis.  Parkside has Spanish speaking professionals on staff.

Parkside provides hospitalization for children as young as six. Parkside’s residential facility and outpatient services provides care for children as young as six.

Yes, the children and youth attend school on site at Parkside.

Though housed in the same building, the children are in a separate unit from the adolescents. The children’s unit treats 6 to 12 year olds. The adolescent unit treats 12 to 17 year olds.

Patients in the hospital are experiencing acute symptoms and require a more intensive level of staff and psychiatrist supervision. Patients in residential programs are also monitored by staff 24 hours a day, but may see the psychiatrist with less frequency (at minimum once a week) and enjoy a more home like treatment environment.

Yes, family therapy is offered through our outpatient program. And for patients in the hospital or residential program, family therapy is required and essential to positive treatment outcomes.

A patient’s length of stay depends on his or her condition, willingness to engage in treatment and progress.

Parkside does not offer specialty programs for these diagnoses but will provide treatment on a case by case basis or make appropriate referrals to other programs.

If the patient with Intellectual Disabilities is able to function in a group setting, and benefit from group treatment, yes.  This is evaluated on a case by case basis.

Parkside offers a continuum of services for the treatment of chemical dependency including medical detox, Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program, Dual Diagnosis group therapy and other treatment services.

The program is for people struggling with a chemical dependency and works to promote sobriety and understanding of substance abuse, mental illness and recovery. The program meets three times a week for three hours a day. The primary purpose of the group is to prevent hospitalization or rehospitalization.

This outpatient group is available for people with both a chemical dependency diagnosis and a psychiatric diagnosis who have demonstrated a period of recovery.  Group goals include symptom recognition and redirection, coping and stress management skills, and relapse prevention skill development.

This outpatient group provides support to promote ongoing stability from long-term psychiatric conditions that are accompanied by thought disorders.

This group provides women who have experienced childhood sexual trauma a safe environment for processing their trauma, correcting cognitive distortions, and developing coping skills.

This group–open to individuals who have successfully completed any chemical dependency program—provides ongoing support to those in recovery.  It is facilitated by a licensed alcohol and drug counselor.

We recommend you bring three changes of comfortable clothing. Hospital gowns are also available, if needed. Please bring undergarments and socks. Bring something to sleep in. Please dress modestly. No clothing with drawstrings will be allowed. Bring appropriate soft-cover books so you can continue your reading. You will not need sunglasses, jewelry, hats or coats. We will provide all personal care items like soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
