Parkside's Capital Campaign
Oklahoma consistently reports one of the nation's highest rates of mental illness, yet we rank nearly last in terms of the amount of funding available to support psychiatric services. To address this problem, Parkside is building a new, state-of-the-art psychiatric hospital to increase the number of patients we can serve each year. The five-story, 114,500-square-foot facility will allow us to serve 136 acute and residential patients each day, up from our current number of 71. This translates to over 4,000 Oklahomans each year who are in need of psychiatric services.
The new hospital will have 80 single patient rooms, space for family and group therapy, areas for recreation, and all the amenities of modern treatment. Twenty of these rooms will be for children's acute care, a population that is underserved throughout the state. Our current hospital will convert into 16 substance abuse rehabilitation beds, meeting a critical community need.
